英语专业学生的四级成绩与模糊容忍度的相关性研究(英文)A STUDY OF THE CORRELATION BETWEEN ENGLISH MAJORS' SCORES OF TEM4 AND TOLERANCE OF AMBIGUITY

摘要(Abstract):
作者调查了193名英语专业学生的模糊容忍度,分析和研究了他们的专业四级考试中各个题项的成绩及总成绩与模糊容忍度之间的相关性。结果表明:(1)学生的模糊容忍度基本上呈正态分布;(2)学生的听力成绩和总成绩与模糊容忍度存在实质性相关,差异均达显著水平;(3)学生的听写、完型填空和阅读成绩与模糊容忍度有微弱相关,差异亦达显著水平;(4)学生的写作和语法词汇成绩与模糊容忍度无相关性。作者把调查结果联系一些学者的推测进行分析,并对外语教学提出了一些建议。
This is a study of the effect of English majors' tolerance of ambiguity on their scores of TEM4. The subjects for the survey are 193 English major students. Statistical results of the survey show that the students' tolerance of ambiguity distributes normally and their scores of listening comprehension and total scores are significantly correlated with their tolerance of ambiguity. A weak positive correlation is also found between their scores of dictation, cloze as well as reading comprehension and tolerance of ambiguity. Students' scores in writing, structure and vocabulary are not significantly correlated with tolerance of ambiguity. The author makes some analyses associating the results of the investigation with some scholarly inferences and gives some suggestions on foreign language teaching.
